Protect Every Drop
Imagine 200 toilets in a multifamily building phantom leaking at the same time.
Nearly 50% of the water flowing into your multifamily building goes down the toilet. One leaking toilet can waste up to 200 gallons every day. This amounts to over 1 trillion gallons of water wasted per year in the US alone.
GUARD DOG VALVES prevent leaks in tank-filled toilets, saving building owners money and reducing wastewater. This innovative technology saves up to 50% on your water bill.

How Our System Works

Our intelligent sOur intelligent system monitors water flow in real time, detecting irregularities before they become costly problems.
The Guard Dog Valve sits on the toilet supply line and controls when water reaches the toilet. Leaks from worn fill valves and flappers are stopped at the source instead of running unnoticed all day and night.ystem monitors water flow in real time, detecting irregularities before they become costly problems.
A built-in motion sensor detects when someone is in the bathroom. When it senses a person, it signals the valve to open and let water fill the tank. No presence means no water demand.
Water flows to the toilet only when it’s needed. The valve stays closed by default and opens for a short, timed cycle after motion is detected. This cuts the window for water loss from 24 hours a day to a few minutes.
A miniature hydro-generator, like a tiny water wheel, sits in the supply line. Each time water flows to refill the tank, it recharges the battery. The valve keeps itself powered with no external power or battery swaps.
When the user leaves, or the timed cycle ends, the valve closes on its own. If the toilet has a faulty flapper or fill valve, the leak stops once the valve shuts. Tenants don’t need to notice or report anything.
Phantom leaks from running toilets often go unreported in multifamily buildings. They can add up to up to 20% of a water bill. The valve prevents these losses every day. The Gigawatt page cites a 250-unit case study where the leak rate fell from 43% to 6% of daily volume, saving about $70,000 a year.
Because the valve recharges itself from water flow, there is no regular maintenance and no battery replacement. It installs in minutes under the toilet and runs on its own afterward.
Bondi Water Controls installs the valves with no money down. Owners pay out of the savings the valves generate, so they see monthly savings and added property value without upfront cost.
